Mr. S.G. Deolalikar, 75,
is like a father figure of Indian plumbing industry. Holding Diploma
in Sanitary Engineering from VJTI-Mumbai, he worked with CPWD
for a while. Subsequently he joined Sardar Mohan Singh a well
known builder who constructed US Embassy at New Delhi. During
this assignment, he worked with noted American architect Edward
Stone. He started his own company-Deolalikar Consultants Pvt.
Ltd. in 1961 and thenafter, as they say, there is no looking back
for him. A man with lot of respect for professional ethics and
approach, SGD as he is referred to, is always committed to bringing
professionalism in the plumbing profession. He is a member of
the Committee set up to prescribe National Building Codes where
he is to define codes for plumbing trade. He is, in a true sense
of the words, the moving spirit behind setting up and also making
the Indian Plumbing Association, the national body of plumbing
professionals in India.
