World Plumbing Day (WPD) is an international event initiated by the World Plumbing Council for celebrating the important role plumbing plays in the health and safety of modern society. The first WPD was celebrated on 11th March 2010, worldwide.

First World Plumbing Day in India witnessed several activities across the country, thanks to an aggressive campaign by IPA. WPD is expected to create much-needed awareness about good plumbing practices for better health, hygiene and environment besides better management of energy and water.

The seventh WPD was celebrated on 11th March 2016 with fun and frolic, wherein IPA chapters held numerous activities across the nation. It's heartening to note that the annual celebration has helped in mobilising public at large including children and youth, by bringing the subject to the centre stage. IPA members have joined hands to educate and help people to promote better water management and sanitation in India.
