The IPA, Hyderabad Chapter, recently organized a seminar on “Plumbing for
Green Buildings” on 4th July, 2009 at Hotel Katriya, Hyderabad. The purpose of
the seminar was to address the need of spreading awareness about plumbing for energy efficient green buildings. The seminar was attended by 150 plus professionals from building services industry from in and around Hyderabad.
The session commenced with the Welcome Address by Mr. R K Somany, Chairman – IPAHC. Mr. Somany in his speech gave a warm welcome to dignitaries, and the gathering. He also welcomed the guests from all walks of life. The Chief Guest of the seminar, Mr Vasudeva Murthy, Head of Atreya Consultants, Bangalore, made a technical presentation on the topic. He shared his views on the necessity and advantages of good plumbing. At the same time, he also discussed some of the critical points related to the provisions/ requirements of green buildings for LEED/IGBC Certification. He discussed various parameters to be kept in mind while designing plumbing systems for green buildings, and how it helps in conserving water and energy. He treated this serious topic so lightly that the audience thoroughly enjoyed it for about 45 minutes.
It was followed by a presentation by Mr. Kamal Khokhani, Director – Akar InfoMedia Pvt Ltd on the 13th Indian Plumbing Conference (IPC) that is to be held at Hyderabad between 28-29 August, 2009. Mr. Khokhani briefed the audience on the significance and importance of the theme of the Conference - Refurbishment of Plumbing Installations. He invited the gathering to be part of the 13th IPC and enjoy the twin advantages of networking with the leading players of the Indian plumbing fraternity, and displaying new products and processes developed in the field of plumbing. Mr Khokhani, overwhelmed by the marvelous response, congratulated the Organizing Committee headed by Mr. Manoj Mathur. He also complimented the team consisting of Mr. V Srinivas, Mr. K Bhaskar, Mr. V Raju, Mr. Sanjay Bhilare, Mr. Mahesh Kumar and so on.
The seminar was sponsored by HSIL and Hindware, and Mr. Nitin Kulkarni, General Manager (Sales) made a nice presentation on the company and the product range.
Following the felicitation of dignitaries, the Vote of Thanks was given by Mr. V Srinivas, Proprietor – Synergy Infra Consultants Pvt. Ltd. The presence of all the Office Bearers IPA HC and other members added a sense of responsiveness and synergy in the seminar. The Seminar was then followed by Cocktails & Dinner.
