Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) is the apex body of plumbing professionals in the country. Set up with an objective to promote advancement in plumbing and building services industry, IPA has successfully created a forum for exchange of ideas and dissemination of information amongst its members. As a member of the World Plumbing Council, IPA encourages its members to achieve and maintain high standards of workmanship. As a part of its objective to provide information on the latest happenings in the plumbing trade, IPA publishes India's only journal totally devoted to plumbing: Indian Plumbing Today – IPT. Keeping in mind the crucial importance and need for
the dissemination of the `right type of information', IPA has
published a one of its kind directory - the Plumbing Directory of India (PDI), which compiles a database of the leading players in the country in the field of plumbing products / services. IPA also organizes conferences, exhibitions, workshops etc., aimed at spreading information about the latest products, processes and technologies related to plumbing and building services. IPA has set up eleven Chapters across the country for spreading the message about the need for good plumbing. The IPA chapters are at Bangalore, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Gujarat , Kochi , Hyderabad , Jaipur , Kolkata and Coimbatore.

- To provide a platform for the dissemination and exchange of knowledge on all matters related to the industry and offer advice to all concerned, on the subject.

- To encourage its members to achieve high standards of workmanship, adopt correct business practices according to the ethical code of conduct to maintain the dignity of the profession and emphasise on their duties and obligations.

- To establish means of communication and harmony between the authorities and the plumbing & building services industry, for discussion of problems faced with government, semi-government, municipal, public and private organizations.

- To organize conferences, seminars, tours, etc,. which may benefit and educate the members of the trade and to promote, support and advance the building services industry.
