Seminar on Plumbing Laboratory and Rainwater Harvesting

IPA Gujarat Chapter (IPAGC) organised a seminar on ‘Plumbing Laboratory and Rainwater Harvesting’ on 14th March, 2009 at Rajkot. The objective of this seminar was to discuss the need for water conservation and also to brief the audience about the Plumbing Laboratory, set-up by IPA to demonstrate better plumbing practices.

Mr. Sandeep Engineer, Chairman- IPAGC, could not attend the program due to some medical emergency. Dr. Muni Raval, Senior Member of IPAGC and a Plumbing Consultant welcomed the guests and affirmed that the participation in the event is an opportunity to exhibit the respect that one possesses for the plumbing fraternity.

Mr. Ghanshyam Patel, Managing Director – Patel Timber Group, was the Guest of Honour. He enlightened the audience on plumbing awareness. He stated that “Blood circulation through veins is synonymous to water circulation through pipes. Water is indispensable and we should seriously focus on deploying water conservation techniques”.

Mr. Devang Parekh, Principal – School of Architecture, Rajkot, was the Chief Guest for the evening. He significantly added that, plumbing is of immense importance for various industries around the globe. It would facilitate proper supply of potable water and safe sanitary conditions, for the welfare of the community. He laid emphasis on conservation of water, enforced by the good quality of plumbing and workmanship. He appreciated the efforts of Indian Plumbing Today (IPT) magazine, in being a resourceful utility for the current market.

One of the speakers, Mr. Apurva Shah, Vice Chairman – IPAGC, made an impressive presentation on India’s First Plumbing Laboratory at Pune. His presentation highlighted the salient features of the Plumbing Laboratory. He also discussed about the need of Plumbing Labs for better plumbing installation.

Mr. Jayesh Shah, Executive Committee Member – IPAGC, shared his views on the ground water condition and rainfall pattern of Rajkot, through a presentation on “Rainwater Harvesting System”. He also suggested various techniques for Rainwater Harvesting.
The Sponsorial Presentations were made by representatives from various organizations namely, Mr. Gaurav Patel from Jay Pumps Ltd. & Jay Water Management Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Sanjay Naik from Hi-Tech Agencies, Rajkot (Distributor, KiTEC Industries India Ltd.); Mr. Parikshit from Dutron Polymers Ltd. and Mr. Parashar Dave from Praj Sales & Services, (Thermax, Channel Partner). The Guest of Honour, Chief Guest, all the speakers and sponsors were felicitated with mementos after the presentations.

The event came to an end, with the Vote of Thanks by Mr. Dipen Mehta, Hon. Secretory – IPAGC, which was followed by a delightful dinner.
