Seminar on Plumbing, Water Conservation and
Environmental Issues for Green Buildings

The Indian Plumbing Association-Delhi Chapter organized a mega seminar on “Plumbing, Water Conservation and Environmental Issues for Green Buildings” on 1st October, 2009 at Lakshmipati Singhania Auditorium.

Mr. M.K. Gupta, Chairman - IPADC gave an opening address highlighting the importance of water conservation and environmental issues with the help of presentation on various areas of environmental degeneration.

The Guest Speaker, Mr. Promod Dhir, Director of M/s. Dew Point Consultants talked about Green Buildings, focussing mainly on Green Plumbing. His presentation was on LEED, the requirement for obtaining certificates for Green buildings, I/C Leeds USA and IGBC, etc.

Following his presentation was question and answer session, wherein stalwarts of plumbing industry, Mr. S.G. Deolalikar, Mr. D.V. Mawkin and others discussed about the practical aspects of plumbing.

The Chief Guest, Mr. J. P. Singh (IAS), Principal Secretary, Delhi Government also enlightened the gathering on various issues related to water conservation and the need of efficient plumbing. Pleased with IPA’s untiring efforts for spreading awareness about better plumbing, he assured of whole-hearted assistance for conducting World Plumbing Conference (WPC), which will be organized in 2013 at New Delhi.

As a part of their educational tour, IPA and IAPMO-India have decided to conduct seminars at all IPA chapters in regards to introducing UPC-I. Mr. Subhash Deshpande talked in detail about this educational tour.

There was a sponsorial presentation by Mr. Shankar Gupta of M/s. Surya Roshni Limited, which was followed by Mr. Kamal Khokhani’s presentation on forthcoming PlumbexIndia’10. Mr. Khokhani appealed to the audience to participate at the event.

Delegates from IPA and various corporate houses attended the seminar. Many eminent plumbing consultants, contractors and even builders participated in the seminar. Overall, the seminar was highly appreciated by everyone.

Mr. P. Balasubramanian, Joint Secretary – IPADC, concluded the seminar with Vote of Thanks. Guests, participants, delegates and other invitees then enjoyed Cocktail & Dinner.
