Gopinath Arunachalam was born in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu in the year 1966. He completed his graduation in Architecture from Manipal Institute of Technology in 1991. Later, he did his Masters in Science in Building Design, specializing in Facilities Development and Management, and then Masters in Environmental Planning, specializing in GIS and Urban Planning. He has worked for various cities on their planning requirements and has his own firm PaGo Consultants Pvt. Ltd., which deals with Practicing, Planning, Architecture and Design. Currently, the PaGo Group possesses design store specializing in total solution for imported (only) bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms and bedroom in Coimbatore , Erode and Madurai . In his leisure time, he travels around the world with his architect friends; delivers lectures and judges architectural works of students. He is a Technical Advisor for the City Corporation of Coimbatore for their infrastructure and planning projects. He is happily married to Padmini Gopinath (PaGo), and is blessed with two sons, Minash and Rohit. He has held various posts, including that of Chairman of Indian Institute of Architects, Coimbatore Centre. Presently, he is the Chairman of IPA Coimbatore Chapter.
